Hi, I bought this furnace 4 mths ago and I am honestly impressed with some things but over all a big disappointment. In order to make it work correctly it took 7 calls to tech department , paying a liscensed HVAC contractor, and 4 mths to get it running correctly. (Not to mention the expenses beyond contractor. I will say that our setup has Drolet as heat source with a propane house furnace and heat pump for backup heat and AC. Now I have a list of issues and the following highlights a few: 1. No forced air for fire box. 2. Does not run like any wood burner I have ever seen or that the contractor has seen. Confusing! 3. It used a heat exchanger plenum that accumulates creosote unlike anything I have ever seen. ( I will say I have had to mix uncured wood in with cured as we were way behind on wood. 4. Expensive 5. Wing nuts holding ash pan and heat exchanger clean out doors with a wing nut is a huge pain. 6. It has dampers that are electronically controlled … no override. 7. Only time the burner gets much above 130 to 150 is when it is fully loaded and burning enough wood that temp up. 8. It burns so cool that the creosote builds and builds and then when it does get hotter the creosote runs out everywhere. Out pipe connects and doors. So I think it’s only fair that I mention that it does burn wood more completely the content parts. It does have way less ash. It also collects more heat to stay in house. For the cost I would not buy this again and if I had to do over I wouldn’t buy. To many other ones that are cheaper and easier. BEFORE YOU BUY please go to web site, download manual and read it cover to cover. Then decide! One last thought is that it was easy to get ahold of tech and they where friendly and helpful!
