This is truly a fire and forget it wood furnace! Once you get the fire going you are done. No adjusting of dampers, no fiddling with it to obtain optimal heat. The only thing you have to worry about is loading wood. We are heating around 3500 sqft with the Heat Commander. During the winter when we hit <20F I am able to keep our home toasty in the 70s. The installation was straight forward. I was able to hook it up to my Ecobee thermostat with room sensors. The most difficult part was figuring out where/how to run the ductwork since we have some long runs (ranch style home with basement). I highly recommend this unit and I am very satisfied with the performance!
