Where do I start ! This is my 2nd Drolet wood stove , my 1st one was back in the mid 90's with a HT-2000 (loved it and regret it when I left it with the house sale) Gave me 5 years of heat in a 3 floor house to which it dropped my Hydro $$ by 40% plus . Going back to the Australl III , its my biggest regret and their service is the worst of all . Pictures shows a modification right off the bat , when I used a chain block in my homes garage to pick it up from the trailer I noticed all 4 legs to be very Flimsy and LOOSE , 1st thought that came to mind was (Oh great the legs will split open the second I lower it to the ground . Stove does weigh 410 LBS . So I had stainless steel panels and measured and cut them and joint them to the 4 sides so it wont allow the legs to open up .... On the 1st start up to burn off the paint was the BIG SURPRISE ! Those who are old enough to remember the GONG SHOW ! I relived it as I do every night for the past 4 nights that I'm lighting this up . Or lets also say (AC-DC Hells Bells ) It wont stop make loud bells sounds and its annoying when its in your TV Room and its all you hear .. I had and still do the Regency 2400 Step-Top , best wood stove for 24 years , unfortunately our Municipality banned that bcuz its a 3.4g/h and only anything at 2.5 g/h or less is allowed to be used , this stoves was so silent that you could hear the ants walking lol !! Going back to The Austral III , 1st night start up I did the usual routine let the kindle burn then add the logs and leave door open until the strong flames start . It took almost 45 min to 1 hr , had to close the loose and not so tight door to which the next morning when I opened the door I noticed the door Seal had shrunk about 1/2" to 3/4" so there's a Big Gap right where they attach on the bottom . I contacted Drolet next morning while I registered my stove , I received the email and sent them the photo's and 3 days later I'm still waiting for a solution meanwhile the nights are getting colder and I need to really pump up the stove and I cant bcuz of the gap on the doors seal .. I would show all of you the shrunken door seal unfortunately they only allow 1 picture .. DROLET I played my cards , its your move now so how will you take care of my problem ? I have already studied this stove and found may FLAWS , I am a Machine shop worker and worked with projects weighing 300 tons plus , I'm also a welder and I could tell you the welds aren't 100% and very uneven . The front ledge under the door is one of those that causes lots of Bells sound bcuz its screwed on with 3 Torx bolts to which they keep getting LOOSE ! Why couldn't you Weld that like others do ? Its been less than 5 days that its been used and I'm Fed up with this Junk , Now the other question is , how many people have been bought to have left 5 star reviews ??? I only purchased this bcuz I cant wait until November to maybe get the HT-3000 to which I'm 100% sure its a much better built !! Thank you all !
