Bought the ht-3000 for its large heating capacity. The stove does give off a lot of heat and is good in that way. The blower for the stove is noisy and should be at least 175-200 cfm. I am disappointed in the firebox as the front ledge is to low and the stove doesn't completely burn out the coals so after a day or so the coals are built up to the point that when you add wood the coals and ashes fall out on the front ledge creating a mess. It's ok if you jar the door for a while and move around the coals several times until they burn down but i didn't want a stove i had to babysit. The most serious issue is the secondary air intake setup. You have no control over it unless you modify the stove. (example) If you fill the stove with wood and you set the drafter for slow burn or almost closed (for overnight or if you were gone for the day) and the wind outside picks up as in 70-90 KM's the stove will burn out of control. On a very windy day (which we get a few on the East Coast) you can close the draft control all the way shut and the stove will still burn as if it was getting full draft.( scary during a windstorm) This is because you have no control over the secondary air control. Not a safe stove to leave unattended during a windy day. Thanks for the electric heat backup i have. Overall we are not happy with our new stove and may just have to look for a different Make or model. At our cabin we have a osburn( I think it's owned by Drolet) which we are really happy with. Just a few things we found with our new setup and hope it helps someone else if this review gets posted.
